Biofabrique Vienna: Network Day
Alliances for Bioregional Design
How do new materials, value chains, and forms of collaboration emerge? The Biofabrique Vienna Network Day brings together stakeholders from the creative industries, manufacturing, research, and public administration to explore these questions.
Three development strands of Biofabrique Vienna will offer insights into their work: Wiener Fliesen, Wiener Farben, and a potential future edition focused on developing a bio-based alternative to polystyrene—a thermoplastic material with countless applications. In open Ask-Me-Anything sessions, participants will have the opportunity to discuss topics such as scaling, certification, production, governance, and network-building directly with the project teams.
Materials can be seen, touched, smelled, and even tasted. In this way, visitors can experience how new material cultures emerge not through information alone, but through direct sensory engagement. At the same time, the event opens up a broader discussion about how the role of design changes in this context.
The Biofabrique Vienna Network Day invites participants to explore these questions together and forge new alliances for a future-oriented material culture.
Participation is free of charge. Registration is requested: creativeindustries@wirtschaftsagentur.at
