Biofabrique Vienna at Vienna Design Week 2026

Biofabrique Vienna, an initiative of the Vienna Business Agency, invites visitors to discover and experience bioregional design at Nordwestbahnhof. The exhibition demonstrates how new materials, products, and value chains can emerge from regionally available residual resources through collaboration between creatives, industry, and the city.
At its core are current Biofabrique Vienna projects, alongside this year’s challenge winners, Anna Perugini ("Applied Colours") and Stefan Decker ("Colours at Work"). Their work exemplifies how design, research, and production can come together to develop forward-looking solutions for material, textile, and manufacturing challenges.
Beyond project presentations, the exhibition offers the opportunity to engage with materials and raw resources through multiple senses and to explore the potential of a new, regionally rooted material culture. It is a place for anyone who sees design not merely as an end result, but as a tool for transformation.
