Biofabrique Vienna Challenge „Applied Colours”

As part of the Urban Food and Design programme, the Vienna Business Agency and Vienna Design Week launched two Biofabrique Vienna Challenges focused on Vienna Colours—natural dyes and pigments derived from previously unused organic waste streams.

The winner of the Applied Colours challenge, Anna Perugini, explores the potential of Vienna Colours beyond the realm of textiles. Drawing on the concept of Biofabrique Vienna, her installation reinterprets the idea of the Viennese Gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art), applying the colours to everyday objects, surfaces, and a variety of materials. The work will be presented at Biofabrique Vienna at the former Nordwestbahnhof during the 20th Vienna Design Week.
