Biofabrique Vienna at Nordwestbahnhof

Biofabrique Vienna, a project of the Vienna Business Agency, is dedicated to material innovation through a bioregional design approach. Located on the Nordwestbahnhof site, it invites visitors to explore a place where design, urban futures, and innovative materials derived from underutilised local resources become tangible and accessible.

The former bus garage serves simultaneously as a showroom, laboratory, exhibition space, and experimental field. New materials, products, and applications are developed on site, demonstrating how regional resources, creative processes, and innovative production methods can come together. The project unlocks local circular economies and urban potential while making the transformation of the new Nordwestbahnhof district visible and tangible.

In addition, the project (W)Hole in One  by Tracing Spaces offers urban cross-golf on the Nordwestbahnhof site. Awarded through Creatives for Vienna, the project functions as a learning trail for architectural culture in the ecological transition, playfully showcasing the potential of this evolving urban area.
