To receive funding, you will need to submit a funding application. Consult with your funding expert to get the information you need, submit your application online, and – this is important – don't make any investments until after you've submitted a complete application. This is because the Vienna Business Agency provides funding only for development proposals that start after submission of the application.

Digitalisation Funding is available to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from all business sectors that have been active in Vienna for at least a year at the time of application.

Digitalisation Funding helps to pay for external services, including training and consultations, and to cover costs for the acquisition of necessary hardware, machines, or devices, as well as investments in software and licenses. The Vienna Business Agency provides funds for projects that can be clearly distinguished from regular day-to-day business operations. Make the cost calculation for your development proposal as detailed as possible.

The decision is made by a jury based on well-defined assessment criteria. Typically, it takes around two months to hear back whether your development proposal will receive Digitalisation funding.

You can be awarded a maximum of 50,000 euros per development proposal. The maximum funding amounts vary depending on the type of funding. Ask your funding expert about the funding details before you submit your application.

Your project must be worth at least 10,000 euros to qualify for Digitalisation Funding.

You can submit your funding application via our online portal – it's convenient and always available. To do so, you must register on our website and create a profile. In your profile, select "My submissions" and "New application". Funding accounts will also be settled via our online system.

You are required to submit a duly completed funding application along with an application confirmation certifying that the information you have provided is true and accurate. Our online system automatically generates this application confirmation as soon as you have finished completing the application form. You will also be required to provide a de minimis declaration, your latest financial statements, and/or an income statement, as well as cost proposals for cost items exceeding EUR 10,000.

You can apply for Digitalisation Funding online anytime. The submission deadline is the date on which the Vienna Business Agency begins to simultaneously process all the funding applications that you have duly completed and submitted by that time. If you do not manage to complete your application form by a certain deadline, your application will be processed only after the next deadline. Generally, there is a submission deadline once every three months.
