Biofabrique Vienna

The Biofabrique Vienna is a pilot project of the Vienna Business Agency and Atelier LUMA, a programme of LUMA Arles, in partnership with the TU Wien (Institute of Architectural Design). Based on the bioregional design approach of Atelier LUMA, a method is being jointly developed to convert unused local resources into materials for architecture and design.

At the Nordwestbahnhof festival site of the Klima Biennale Vienna, visitors can follow daily the progress made in material development. Together with our partners Wiener Linien, Bäckerei Ströck and Wienerberger AG, the potential of recyclable materials from the urban space is being researched and demonstrated.
