Workshop: From Waste To Colour

Karin Altmann is an artist and researcher and has been teaching in the Department of Textiles at the University of Applied Arts Vienna since 2004, specializing in dyeing with natural dyes, textile printing and textile production. In addition, she has initiated a series of transdisciplinary and transcultural projects with partners from Bhutan, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Japan, Mali and Ghana, as well as art projects with children, people with disabilities, refugees and women facing mental and social crises. Through artistic, reflective practices, spaces of possibility are opened up at various intersections: for encounter, for the growth and exchange of knowledge, for breaking down established structures, and for exploring cultural diversity.

Angela Olbrich is an artist, researcher, herbalist, and art therapist. As an art therapist, she worked for many years at a renowned addiction clinic in Vienna. Since 2014, she has also worked as a teaching therapist, instructor, and board member at the Academy for Holistic Art Therapy. Alongside this, she creates art in the "Abstract Natural" style, strongly inspired by nature and sustainability. Her work reflects an intensive engagement with natural processes, materials, and forms. She sees art as a bridge that leads us back to nature and simultaneously creates a connection between humanity and the environment.
