Symposium Biofabrique Vienna: Wiener Farben 2025
Urban Food & Design at Vienna Design Week 2025
How can colour design be both economically and ecologically sustainable? The ‘Symposium Biofabrique Vienna: Wiener Farben’ – this year's focus topic at Biofabrique Vienna – explores this question in depth.
Biofabrique Vienna, an initiative of the Vienna Business Agency, promotes bio-based and circular practices in design and production. The aim is to strengthen Vienna as a location for bioregional design methods – through knowledge transfer, cooperation and bold experiments – with a focus on developing colours from food waste streams from 2025 onwards.
The symposium, part of Vienna Design Week 2025, is dedicated to the challenges and potential of producing natural dyes and their use in bioregional design practice, education and business, and offers experts, designers, entrepreneurs and students a platform for interdisciplinary exchange. Together, we are shaping a more colourful and regenerative future.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is requested.
The event will be held partly in German and partly in English.
