Biofabrique Vienna: Textile Day
Material innovation in the fashion and textile sector
What developments and challenges exist in material innovation in the fashion and textile sector? These and other questions will be discussed by fashion and design experts at Textile Day on April 18th from 5pm at Biofabrique Vienna. Speakers include Carolin Schelkle (Atelier LUMA), Miriam Kathrein (Head of AFA Futures, Austrian Fashion Association) and Antonia Maedel (Rudolf Vienna).
Based on the bioregional design approach of Atelier LUMA, Biofabrique Vienna is developing a method to transform unused local resources into materials for architecture and design. During the Klima Biennale Wien (April 5 - July 14), we will explore how this concept can be applied to various disciplines in the future. At Textile Day, for example, visitors can learn about innovative manufacturing processes ranging from industrial plant dyeing to creative weaving techniques.
Biofabrique Vienna is a pilot project of the Vienna Business Agency and Atelier LUMA, a program of LUMA Arles, in partnership with the TU Wien (Institute of Architectural Design).
