Digitalisation Funding

Please note that only projects that begin after the application has been submitted are eligible for funding. Make sure to submit your complete application before making any investments. After a formal check, your application will be reviewed by an independent jury. All projects submitted within the same quarter are assessed together, and the most promising ones will be recommended for funding. Applications can only be submitted online.

Eligible for funding are digitalisation projects based on a coherent and clearly structured digitalisation plan. In particular, the program supports the transition to digital solutions in internal workflows, production processes, customer interaction or other core business areas. Isolated measures without a clear impact on internal operations or workflows are not eligible. Please make sure to calculate your project costs as accurately as possible.

• Website creation or relaunch, standalone webshops
• Internal personnel costs
• Purchase of standard hardware (PCs, accessories, telephones, etc.) or standard software (e.g. office applications or operating    systems)
• Pure machinery acquisitions

The decision is made by a jury based on well-defined assessment criteria. Typically, it takes around two months to hear back whether your development proposal will receive Digitalisation funding.

You can receive up to €50,000 per project. Once your funding application has been approved, you will receive information about the amount of your eligible costs. The maximum amount of your funding will be calculated on the basis of these recognised costs. Please consult your funding expert for details of the funding before submitting your application.

The funding rate is the percentage of a development proposal's eligible costs that will be funded. The funding rate varies depending on the type of funding. To give you an example: If the funding rate is 50% and we recognise 50,000 euros as your costs, the Vienna Business Agency will pay 25,000 euros. The maximum funding rate for Digitalisation Funding is 50%.

You can submit your funding application via our online portal – it's convenient and always available. To do so, you must register on our website and create a profile. In your profile, select "My submissions" and "Submit now". Funding accounts will also be settled via our online system.

You are required to submit a duly completed funding application along with an application confirmation certifying that the information you have provided is true and accurate. Our online system automatically generates this application confirmation as soon as you have finished completing the application form. You will also be required to provide a de-minimis declaration, your latest financial statements, and/or an income statement, as well as cost proposals for cost items exceeding EUR 10,000.

You can apply for Digitalisation Funding online anytime. The submission deadline is the date on which the Vienna Business Agency begins to simultaneously process all the funding applications that you have duly completed and submitted by that time. If you do not manage to complete your application form by a certain deadline, your application will be processed only after the next deadline. Generally, there is a submission deadline once every three months.
