Creative Days X Wien Modern
On 6 June, Bernhard Günther, Artistic Director of Wien Modern , will provide exciting insights into the festival's work and way of thinking as part of the Creative Days Vienna and offer a first preview of the programme for this year's edition.
With a full programme lasting around a month at numerous venues throughout the city, Wien Modern is the largest festival for new music in Austria and one of the biggest events of its kind in the world. Wien Modern involves large parts of the city, from the Great Hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus with its almost 2,000 seats to the tiny basement venue of Café Korb, the experimental echoraum at Sechshauser Straße 66, as well as the MuseumsQuartier, the Kunsthistorisches Museum and the Naturhistorisches Museum.
Concerts form the core of the programme, but the range has long since expanded to include music theatre, dance, visual arts, film, video, performance, installation, site-specific and long-term works, improvisation and format discoveries of all kinds.
