Funding helps to cover lease payments, including running costs and maintenance contribution, but without VAT. If you have an initiative project, we also provide funding for the purchase of new installations and machines, for structural modifications, non-personnel and material costs, consultation costs, costs for training and qualification programmes for your employees, marketing costs, or the costs for leasing additional commercial space in your vicinity.

What is a funding rate?

The funding rate is the percentage of a development proposal's eligible costs that will be financed. The funding rate varies depending on the type of funding. To give you an example: If the funding rate is 50% and we recognise 10,000 euros as your project costs, the Vienna Business Agency will pay 5,000 euros. The funding rate for U-Bahn (Subway) Support Funding is 50% for lease payments and up to 80% for initiative projects.

You can submit your application for funding via our online portal – it's convenient and always available. To do so, you must register on our website and create a profile. In your profile, select "My submissions" and "New application". Funding accounts will also be settled via our online system.

You are required to submit a duly completed funding application along with an application confirmation certifying that the information you have provided is true and accurate. Our online system automatically generates this application confirmation as soon as you have finished completing the application form. Who is eligible?	Our funding is for street-level businesses in Vienna and helps to cover lease costs or the implementation of new ideas (initiative projects) to boost sales.
Business sectors:	Commercial operations from all business sectors with fewer than 50 employees.
Eligible costs:	Lease payments, including running costs and maintenance contribution, but without VAT.
Submission:	On an ongoing basis, until the subway (U-Bahn) construction is completed. You can apply on our online portal anytime.
Documents to be submitted:	A duly completed online funding application, an application authenticity certificate along with a de minimis declaration, and your latest financial accounts, and/or an income statement
Assessment:	Funding applications are assessed on a first-come, first-served basis: In other words, companies that meet the funding criteria and are the first to submit their funding application will be granted funding approval.
