Five winners each receive a €10,000 production grant. Two €5,000 special prizes are awarded to projects that promote digital skills and improve understanding of democratic processes in the digital society. These projects range from online journalistic formats to educational games. There are also special prizes for participation in South by Southwest (SXSW) 2025.
What submissions were eligible?
Applicants could submit creative projects, prototypes, demo versions and concepts currently under development in the following areas:
Games (digital games and playful media)
Augmented, extended and virtual reality (AR, XR and VR)
Animation, visual effects, 360° video
Digital literacy
Machine learning/artificial intelligence
Blockchain/Web3
Digital content publishing
Serial online content
Digital applications for wearable IT

Who was eligible to take part: | Companies, private individuals and associations from the creative industries and the media looking to implement a digital project. Applicants had to meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria: The applicant’s place of residence or the registered address of their company or business is in Vienna or the submission is predominantly developed/produced in Vienna or Vienna is a substantial and/or formally relevant and convincing factor in the submission. |
