Content Vienna – competition for digital design

All participants are informed of the jury’s decision in writing. The detailed assessment outcomes are only shared with the Vienna Business Agency and cannot be disclosed. Consequently, no details will be given for projects that are not selected as winners. 

You can submit creative projects, prototypes, demo versions and concepts currently under development in various areas of creative, digital design, including: games (digital games and playful media), augmented, extended and virtual reality (AR, XR and VR), animation, visual effects, 360° video, digital literacy , machine learning/artificial intelligence, blockchain/Web3, digital content publishing, serial online content, digital applications for wearable IT. 

No. There is a maximum of one project per applicant, whether they are a private individual, a company or an association. 

An independent jury assesses submitted projects on the basis of the following criteria: creative quality, qualifications held and professionalism shown by the person submitting the application/the project team, implementation planning

When the submission period closes on 11 September 2025, the Vienna Business Agency will screen all submissions to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and feature a permitted project format. All submitted projects that meet these conditions will be assessed by an independent jury.

The jury members will assess eligible projects on the basis of the criteria listed above. Projects with the highest rating in this assessment will move on to the final. Applicants whose projects are selected as finalists will be invited to present their projects to the jury at a hearing in November 2025. Finalists will be notified by the end of October 2025.

The jury will assess the finalists and select up to five projects that will each receive production grants in the amount of €10,000.

All winning projects led by one or more women will also receive a Women’s Bonus of €1,000. In addition, the jury may select up to two further projects to receive a special award for digital literacy of €5,000 each. 

We expect to inform finalists of the jury’s final decisions by mid-November 2025. 

You can submit your project online during the submission period (5 June to 18 September 2024). Register on our website and create a profile. In your profile, select “My applications” and “New application”. During the submission period, the Content Vienna competition will be listed on the submission platform under “Offers” and “Creative industries and media”.
