Creative Days Vienna 2025
Let’s talk creative industries. The international creative industry discusses the interactions between digital technologies and culture.
At Creative Days Vienna 2025, immersive games met biocomputing, and fashion technology met film art.
To kick things off on 14 May, participants explored innovative creative spaces in the city as part of the “Creatives for Vienna” tour – from the Creative Cluster and Palais Rössl to the Never At Home temporary use project in the former ORF Funkhaus. At the festive opening at The Hoxton Vienna, Claire L. Evans spoke about biocomputing and digital ecosystems, while Sean Bidder emphasised the value of physical music experiences in the digital age.
The second day focused on interactive workshops and networking sessions – from AI in game development to fashion and technology to augmented reality. A special highlight were the Content Vienna Showcases. Rebecca Merlic's immersive game “Kissaten Vienna” brought stories from Japanese and Austrian coffee house culture to life in digital form. The installation V-Real by SOAP provided insight into how our domestic lifestyle is changing in the context of technology, intimacy and voyeurism. The event concluded with an exciting programme at the Austrian Film Museum: Eva Jäger's lecture on the role of cultural institutions in data management, an audiovisual performance by Claudia Larcher and Ursula Winterauer, and contributions on art, film and AI.
The Creative Days clearly demonstrate how digital technologies are already shaping creative processes and cultural forms of expression today – and how they will continue to drive them forward.
