Crystalline Mirror Solutions GmbH
Redefining precision laser opticsCrystalline Mirror Solutions manufactures low-noise reflective optics using a proprietary coating technology.
High-performance optical coatings are critical for a variety of scientific endeavors and commercial industries, including broadband communication, navigation, and sensing. Our crystalline coatings represent an entirely new paradigm in optical coating technology impacting cavity end mirrors for state-of-the-art ultrastable lasers, cavity-ringdown systems, and ring-laser gyroscopes. Moreover, exploiting the high thermal conductivity and active electro-optic properties of the materials we employ, crystalline coatings promise to have a tremendous impact in ultra- fast and high-power laser systems.
Crystalline Coatings for Advanced Astronomy Applications (Xtal Astro)In this effort we will develop ultraprecise, large-area mirrors. From a business perspective for CMS, these mirrors will serve as the first prototypes of a new line of large-area optics for advanced astronomy applications (“Xtal Astro”). From the scientific perspective of the partner institutions (UWA, UniVie), these mirrors will be a stepping stone towards the development of ultra-high performance end mirrors for next-generation gravitational wave detectors.As specific deliverables, These optics will serve as a stepping stone for international astronomy systems. The technical advancements generated in the course of this effort will be fed back into CMS's existing product lines enabling us to further increase our market share in related fields (inertial navigation, etc.) and also envisioned future product lines in astronomy.
