New recruitment paths and methods are needed to find digital talent, which is why we want to test our future trainees against the requirements of our new working world using new digital technologies such as VR/AR in the assessment centre.
Our assessment centre consists of the following elements:
1. Self-introduction (Task: Present an open day, including a presentation of yourself and the company)
2. Roleplay (Conflict resolution discussion, sales pitch)
3. Structured interview
4. Teamwork on a project including presentation in front of assessors
Different assessors then evaluate the future trainees. The recruitment focus is on young university graduates with work experience, etc. We are looking for trainees in the fields of IT, Sales and Technology. The solution must meet the different requirements of the field and therefore provide different possible applications and scenarios. One solution does not have to cover all business units.
The focus is on selective use and complementing the current recruitment process rather than on the complete digitisation of the entire assessment centre. A digital component prior to the assessment centre is a potential option.
A tool that is aimed at comparing and assessing candidates (not a “toy” for employer branding purposes). We are looking for people/companies that are able to virtually design parts of an assessment centre and/or preassessment and also have technical skills in the field of VR (VR and/or AR are possible technologies, although the challenge is also open to other technologies).
One idea, for example, would be to place VR/AR glasses on the candidate during the self-presentation and to fade in an audience. The use of an avatar would be another option.
The key objective is to make the AC more realistic and the behaviour closer to reality using technology. This makes it possible to observe the respective skills (e.g. communication, presentation, negotiating skills, conflict-resolution ability, creativity, flexibility, empathy, self-motivation, ability to cope with stress, organizational competence, entrepreneurial thinking, etc.). On a meta-level, the increasingly important ability to work with digital technologies should also be tested.
A partial or overall solution may be submitted by an individual entrepreneur or consortium.
The opportunity to work with one of Austria’s largest employers on the assessment centre of the future. The submitted challenge will be accompanied by an internal expert at least one day a week. Furthermore, a budget of approx. €20,000 will be made available for the joint development of the prototype; this can also be adjusted depending on the solution.
