
We Measure Conventions!
Two young entrepreneurs from Vienna discover an unfilled need in the field of conventions and now offer an analysis of indoor visitors with “Waytation”.
It is incredibly important for convention organizers to be able to back up their results with data and facts. What paths do the visitors move in? Where do they stop and for how long? Do the right target groups visit the appropriate presentations? Up until now there was no solution. Waytation, the startup from Vienna, is now successfully providing one.
Develop something that the customer needs
“Sitting in a train somewhere between Berlin and Vienna, Cemsit and I were trying to think of industries for which it would be interesting to measure distances.” As cofounder Florian Bräuer explains. “After our brainstorming session we ran our idea by acquaintances and consultants. With their input we began to develop our product. The startup service of the Vienna Business Agency was always available with advice. We hit the centre of the target. In the first year alone, we entered into contracts with a value of €210,000 from companies throughout Europe. This opened the doors for us internationally. It also helps that Vienna is known throughout the world as the convention and conference headquarters in Europe. The Vienna Convention Bureau, in particular, supported us from the very beginning.” adds cofounder Cemsit Yelgin, who is excited about official partnerships with the Austria Center Vienna and Reed Exhibitions.
