There is good news to report for the Vienna technology scene: in the recent tender for new K1 centers, four projects with Viennese participation are going through.
As part of the COMET (Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies) program, the Vienna Business Agency promotes cooperation with the Österreichischen Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft (Austrian Research Promotion Agency) in the development and expansion of research and competence centers, networks, economy, and science in Vienna.
The program is now announcing good news for the Viennese technology field: in the recent tender for new K1 centers (these focus on scientific and technological developments in terms of future-oriented markets), four projects with Viennese participation prevailed. A total of seven new K1 centers were approved for Austria. The total amount approved for new K1 centers is approximately 130 million Euros, a grant which will contribute to further strengthen research and innovation in Austria. The funding decision itself was made by an international and independent jury.
The main focus of the newly approved centers include the areas of production technologies (Industry 4.0), material technologies, information and communication technologies, life sciences, and medical technology.
