On the road to international success with the Vienna Start-up Package
Gica Trierweiler Yabu, co-founder and business manager of Beaba company (Brazil), is delighted with her stay in Vienna as part of the Vienna Start-up Package: “Vienna’s size is perfect for standing out from the crowd. It is easy to establish contacts and partnerships. For me, Vienna feels like business poetry: I am in love with this city.”
The two-month programme has given her deep insights into the Vienna start-up scene. A variety of events have provided her with the necessary exchange and networking opportunities – “from exclusive “Ask me anything” sessions and making our pitch at the Pioneers Festival to visiting successful Viennese companies.”
Thanks to the training and guidance offered by experts and mentors in workshops, Gica has been able to expand her company’s vision and put the business on a new footing. Now, the business model is set to be changed from a non-profit to a social business and to be established on a global basis.
Beaba is a platform that deals with cancer in children. Information about the disease and therapy options is displayed in a clear and objective, yet positive way. Its focus is to educate people about cancer from the diagnosis to treatment options. Books, mobile apps, events and self-help groups are being created in cooperation with experts, patients, caregivers and medical professionals to make sure that the right information is made available.
International start-ups can apply for the next Vienna Start-up Package until June 30th. The second round begins in October 2018!
