VRVis is Austria's leading and internationally-renowned institution for applied research in visual computing. Solutions and prototypes are developed according to customer-specific requirements, and are directly related to tasks in the economy and industry. Visual computing is a cross-sectional technology.
This means that there isn't a fixed industry sector for applying research results; rather, there are numerous graphics that use the computer graphics tool.
Industry and service companies of any size benefit from VRVis’ comprehensive knowledge, software expertise and experience. VRVis’ is even an important source of innovative know-how for small and medium-sized companies that do not have their own R&D department. VRVis develops prototypes, innovative and personalised solutions that build upon them, and provides research-related services for them.
It collaborates closely with the technical universities in Vienna and Graz, the University of Vienna, and a series of international universities, such as the University of Bergen. and also implements the results of basic research in mature prototypes and innovations for the industry.
