2,050 Viennese SMEs have made use of the funding offer for installing home office work places.
About two weeks ago, the City of Vienna launched the home office funding in order to make it easier for small and medium-sized businesses in Vienna to quickly switch to home office operation. This rapid and unbureaucratic assistance has been well received by the companies; the 2,050 funding applications submitted are currently being processed by the Vienna Business Agency. With this number of applications, the funding pot of 10 million euros has been fully utilised. New applications are no longer possible.
In many areas, Vienna has been running a home office operation for almost three weeks now, the companies in Vienna have meanwhile changed over as well as possible and work from home. With the home office funding it was possible to quickly contribute and making Viennese SMEs fit for at least this special challenge in the current crisis. A glance at the balance sheet of the subsidy programme shows that the city's offer of support for Viennese businesses was well timed and put together with the right content:
Up to and including 1 April, 2,050 companies have applied for funding, with a total requested funding amount of almost 15 million euros. The funding quota was 75 percent, the maximum funding amount per company was 10,000 euros. On average, the submitting Viennese SMEs invested 7,000 euros in the procurement of hardware, software or consulting services for the creation of home office jobs, thus receiving an average of around 5,200 euros in funding.
The first funds of the home office subsidy will be released this week and the team of the Vienna Business Agency is working intensively to ensure that the money reaches the companies as quickly as possible.
