In the ASCR showroom in the Aspern IQ, interested parties can now gain an insight into the latest findings in energy efficiency and energy technology.
Vienna is growing and energy consumption is increasing. Innovative solutions that help to conserve resources and protect our quality of life are the focus of the city. The recently opened demo centre of the Aspern Smart City Research (ASCR) demonstrates today what the urban future of energy will bring tomorrow. Interactive installations explain to the visitor groups how the generation, storage, distribution and consumption of energy can be efficient in a city of the future.
An especially interesting point is that the actual energy behaviour of the inhabitants of the lakeside town of Aspern forms the basis of research, other components of the energy system such as buildings, network, information and communication technologies are included in the research.
Aspern Smart City Research is a joint venture of the City of Vienna, Siemens AG Austria, Wien Energie GmbH and Wiener Netze. The research project is concerned with the optimisation of urban energy generation and consumption whilst reducing CO2 emissions at the same time.
