Expats enjoyed a delicious meal together at Gugumuck Escargot Farm and Bistro.
Escargots have long been a part of Viennese culinary tradition – and this tradition is being continued professionally, and with considerable success, by the Gugumuck Escargot Farm in Vienna’s 10th district.
That alone was reason enough to visit this traditional business on 6 September with 30 members of the Vienna Business Agency’s Expat Club. Farm proprietor and host Andreas Gugumuck gave us an insight into the history of Viennese heliciculture, followed by a tour of his farm. Equipped with a basic understanding of “snail farming”, the visiting Expats then rounded off their visit on a culinary note in the farm’s adjacent Escargot Bistro. A glass of wine and – of course – some escargots provided the perfect opportunity to network and make new contacts in the international and local community.
