The City of Vienna and the Vienna Economic Chamber have passed immediate measures to support companies affected by the corona Crisis.
In response to the prevailing challenging situation caused by the coronavirus, the City of Vienna and the Vienna Economic Chamber have launched an initial aid package to support Viennese businesses. “We will provide immediate and unbureaucratic support. Our goal is to forestall economic hardship for companies and their employees”, said Mayor Michael Ludwig, President of the Vienna Economic Chamber Walter Ruck, and City Councillor Peter Hanke on Sunday. The main focus is on sole traders and small and medium-sized enterprises. The first package includes:
- 12 million euros in guarantees to boost liquidity for Viennese SMEs
- 20 million euro emergency fund for sole traders and micro-enterprises
- 3 million euro budget increase by the Vienna Employment Promotion Fund (Wiener ArbeitnehmerInnenförderungsfonds or waff) for labour foundations
