Vienna’s quality of life, conservation of resources, and innovation are convincing
The multinational Roland Berger consulting firm has analysed the strategies of major world cities, and created a “Smart City Index” for the first time. Vienna has taken the first place in the international ranking, followed by Chicago and Singapore.
For the “Smart City Index”, 87 major cities across the world were compared, and their Smart City strategies were summarised according to the three main categories of fields of application, strategic planning, and IT infrastructure. In the process, particular emphasis was placed on six interlocking fields of application, namely, public administration, health, education, energy and environment, buildings, and mobility.
