The Technology Centre Seestadt continues to grow. The tz2, designed by ATP architects engineers, is open.
Eye tracking data glasses, simulators for the public transport system, decontamination robots or building research to find energy solutions for the future. In the expanded Technology Centre in Seestadt Aspern, these visions of the future are already reality. The expansion of the facility to include a second building has been completed on schedule, providing an additional 5,600 m2 of space for a closely-connected network of technology-oriented companies. An additional expansion for this European flagship project and the construction of a commercial park are currently under development.
The new tz2 Technology Centre
Companies and start-ups will find perfectly-equipped office spaces, individually adaptable production rooms with a ceiling height of 4 metres on the ground floor, maintenance areas for outdoor works and meeting zones all ready to hand in the new tz2. For the first time in Austria, natural sunlight is being introduced as a light source in the foyer of the tz2 by means of fibre optic cable. The tz2 will be the first piece of commercial real estate to be studied by Aspern Smart City Research (ASCR) in Europe’s largest and most innovative energy research project. The insights gained will contribute significantly to the development of new energy solutions in urban areas.
The building has been constructed and “greened” to meet passive house standards. The solar power installation is one of the largest installations of its type in commercial real estate in Austria. The building also features additional assets including ÖGNB (Austrian Sustainable Building Council) certification for sustainable construction, CO2-controlled aeration and ventilation, heating and cooling using well water, combined cooling and heating roofs (concrete core cooling), fully automatic sun protection and internet connection to the fibre optic network.
