Gunter Reski & Hans-Jürgen Hafner
Gunter Reski has realised several curatorial projects including publications: “The Happy Fainting of Painting“ (2013) together with Hans-Jürgen Hafner, “Captain Pamphile“ (2011) in cooperation with Marcus Weber. In addition, he was running the Showroom “~Laden/Schillerstr.“, Berlin (1997-1999). His various artistic role models – from painting to writing to curating – represent the discursive nineties in a typical way.
Hans-Jürgen Hafner (*1972) is an art critic, author and exhibition organizer. From 2011–2016 he was the Director of the Kunstverein Düsseldorf. He has implemented numerous monographic as well as thematic exhibitions on the relation between art and the market, the impact of digitalization on art, and on alternative art historical/curatorial narratives, among other topics. Together with Gunter Reski, he is the author and editor of The Happy Fainting of Painting, a textual and visual anthology on the recent history of painting. Hafner regularly publishes articles and reviews in Camera Austria, Frieze, Spike Art Quarterly and Texte zur Kunst.
