Susanne Titz is an art historian and has been the director of the Museum Abteiberg in Mönchengladbach, Germany, since 2004. From 1997 to 2004, she was the Director of the Neue Aachener Kunstverein NAK. Her focus is on the development of art since the 1960s, thereby drawing on the specific identity of the museum in Mönchengladbach (Hans Hollein’s first building, realized together with Johannes Cladders from 1972 to 1982). Her curatorial projects include In Order to Join. Politisch in einem historischen Moment (with Swapnaa Tamhane, 2014/Mumbai 2015); Open Dress, Nairy Baghramian mit Lutz Bacher, Lukas Duwenhögger und Danh Vo (mit Nairy Baghramian 2014/15); Hans Hollein. Alles ist Architektur. (with Wilfried Kuehn, 2014); Lonely Fingers (with Diango Hernandez and Anne Poehlmann, 2013); Das Gespinst (with Wilhelm Schürmann, 2010); Robert Morris. Notes on Sculpture. Objects,Installations, Films (2010), Morgan Fisher. Translations (2009) among others. She has realized early exhibitions by Lucy McKenzie, Wolfgang Tillmans, Paulina Olowska, R. H. Quaytman and many others and has recently shown Monika Baer, Große Spritztour, in early 2016.
