
Maria Arusoo
Maria Arusoo (* 1983 in Tallinn) is an artist-curator currently working as the Director of the Center for Contemporary Arts Estonia and the Commissioner of the Estonian Pavilion at Venice Biennial.
Recent curatorial projects include the exhibition, MEEL. VAHTRA. FARKAS_idealist function at the CAC (Contemporary Art Center of Vilnius – 2015); Archeological Festival_ a 2nd hand history and improbable obsessions, which was spread across three floors at the Tartu Art Museum (2014) and Art in the Era of Digital Capitalism, a conference spanning the tendencies of acceleration and post-2011 institutional alternatives. This conference was co-curated with Rebeka Põldsam and included Franco Bifo Beradi as the keynote speaker. Arusoo's current projects include working with the Museum of Estonian Architecture (2017), as well as dedicating her curatorial efforts to the long-standing performance festival NU-Performance at SAAL (2016). Lastly, Arusoo will be producing the Estonian Pavilion at the 57th Biennale di Venezia.
