Dirk Schönberger
Dirk Schönberger (*1966 in Cologne) studied fashion design in Florence. At the beginning of the 1990s he relocated to Antwerp, one of the world’s most influential fashion centers at the time. After briefly working for Dirk Bikkembergs, he founded his own fashion label in 1995. In 2010, he became Creative Director at Adidas, the second biggest sports- and fashion brand in the world. At Adidas, Schönberger is working together with people such as Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Raf Simons, Yohji Yamamoto and Maurizio Cattelan, some of whom are designing their own products and collections for the label. With cult products such as the “Boost” and the “Superstar” as well as through a new design approach, Adidas has once again become a style-defining brand under his creative direction. In both, his professional and his private life, Schönberger devotes himself to music, art and pop culture. He has a collection of contemporary art in Berlin including works of Sergej Jensen and Gregor Hildebrandt.
