‘Handwerkersterben’ is not only an urgency in the developing world but also a threat that demands immediate action in our own environment. Not only are valuable traditions, cultural competences, ‘community based skills’ & generational identities lost - but also & foremost livelihoods.
The co/rizom methodology is a 3 year roadmap & toolkit supporting traditional artisans to transition to suppliers of global retail. With this application we want to prove the relevance for artisans in the ‘global north’. We acknowledge that the advanced level of competence of European artisans requires a condensed one-year module & an adapted toolkit to echo their complex challenges. Overall we will shift focus on creative input, marketing & branding expertise to ensure market readiness & visibility.
