The Covid-19 pandemic affected City Games Vienna greatly: On top of all city events being postponed and games shops being closed, the Lock-down also meant that people would not be able to go out to play games in the city anymore.
Instead of waiting for the pandemic to pass off, the three founders decided to continue doing what they do best: making games. This is how they came up with “A Monster A Day” a digital “Monster Hunt” played over Google Street Views to discover curiosities around Vienna, and offered it for free to the urban games community over their website.
The next step is turning it into a commercial product: There will be two versions of “A Monster A Day”: a digital version in the form of an App as well as an analog version in the form of a Play Book.
